What books do you love? Fiction fantasy books? Are they your thing? How about cross-genre historical fiction fantasy books. Does such a category exist?

For me great fiction fantasy books focus, in truth on reality although it is fiction. But such books do not just point out what is wrong with reality, but how we can make reality better.

Creator, by Michael Hills, is a fiction fantasy book as is Perfume by Suskind. These books are similar in the way that they begin, following the life of a truly gifted abomination.

Mixed with mystery, fantasy and murder, both stories take place in actual historical scenarios, and both main characters have special almost magical powers.

Both are reeling in hard reality built into the framework of fantasy. And both of them have deeper meanings, and are in some way spiritual.

But Creator goes beyond Perfume to add another element, which is myth. As a myth Creator is very entertaining.

It has the top layer of the entertaining liner story line, and many layers beneath that, all of which are as significant as the other, all of which depends on the level of understanding the reader has to interpret them, and at that same time none of them need to be seen at all, in order to enjoy it.

It is possible to read it one day, perhaps in your twenties, and get a particular meaning out of it. Pick it up again twenty years later, when you have gained more experience, and see a completely different meaning in it.

The bizarre thing is that the whole story ultimately revolves around one word, like the Bible, also being a myth, revolves around Love, yet Creator is a complex. There is a duality. It is a word powerful enough to destroy everything, but at the same time to take this word out of our vocabulary, out of our subconsciousness, would mean humanity’s salvation. No I will not tell you what word it is. You’ll find out when you read the book.

Creator goes beyond every genre and category, to create a category of its own. If I were to give it a name I would call it consciousness literature. In CL the genre, or cross genre, is unimportant. What is vital is that the writer takes the reader to another level of consciousness through the writing.

When this is set in your subconscious this becomes a powerful message as it is internalized. The point is that this book can enlighten you, and expand your consciousness. Go to best fantasy books, if you are looking or a great read.
