Author Success – An interview with author, Michael Bellone
Honorary fierfighter, Michael Bellone was a responder to the 9/11 attack and was an integral part of the cleanup of the aftermath. This is a recent interview with Michael and Robert S. Nahas:
1. Why did you want to be an author?
Bellone: I wanted to let everyone know what it was like to work within the perimeter boundaries of Ground Zero. Working on the pile was 99% emotional and 1% physical.
2. What did becoming a published author do for you? What have you accomplished by being a published author so far?
Bellone: It gave me a sense of responsibility to make available information that was not available to the public or media. It
also made me feel good that some stories and information answered many questions and ideas the public had about Ground Zero.
3. Did being a published author make your goals easier to accomplish?
Bellone: Some goals are too difficult to put into writing. But there have been a great many substantial things accomplished only because I have my book; a quality book.
4. How did it open doors for you? What are the things that have happened because you are an author? Have important people and media taken notice in you? Do you believe that you would have gotten this much attention if you were not a published author?
Bellone: The Media was there. I never looked for notice or attention. I try to fly under the wire so to speak and let the book do all the talking.
5. Do you believe that you would have achieved as much as you did if you had not been a published author? Please explain.
Bellone: No, working with Writer Services opened me up to new ideas and a new direction to go with my second book. What I like about Writer Services is the way they let me give them my ideas and then they enhanced and put my ideas into different perceptions, allowing me to choose the way to go instead of them taking over and dictating. And everything they did was stellar in every sense of the word. Each time I got something back from them (cover design, formatting, editing . . .) it blew me away. And I had great expectations too.
6. What are your latest plans to promote your book?
Bellone: I will be attending different shows, including the Florida State fair in Tampa at the beginning of next year. My challenge is that I’m running out of books and need to make sure I have enough for that show!
7. Where can our readers buy your book?
Bellone: I am making arrangements with Prominent Books http://ProminentBooks.com to make the book available from the major book stores, Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and others. But in the meantime, you can get it at http://tracteam.org/ It’s available in soft cover, and I still have a few hard cover editions left in stock at the time of this interview.
8. What was your experience in working with Writer Services like?
Bellone: After having done my first book ten years ago without an all-in-one services company such as Writer Services, They gave me direction, formation, and most of all encouragement not just to do the new book, but to make it that much better. Their encouragement, support, caring and professionalism made for a unique and exceptional life experience of creating this book that I am ever proud to hold up and show to the world.
Michael Bellone is a great example of how Writer Services helps aspiring authors to succeed at their goals by first producing a high quality book, professional printing management, and then giving expert advice. They also provide excellent marketing in “done for you” services or coaching and education.
