I was a bit of a loner growing up. Not that people maintain their distance from me. Actually, it is the other way about. I chose to be alone because I developed hobbies that needed no companions at all.
I took ballet lessons at the young age of 6 years old. Technically I was about with children but not with children my age. So when parties in grade school needed group presentations, while I lobby for a ballet dance, the rest of my classmates are available rehearsing hip hop dance moves. Hence, I would always wind up performing a ballet dance solo. Although the limelight was focused on me, they’ve no idea how lonely it was available on the stage.
When the only ballet studio in town closed down, I had a difficult time discovering a new exercise program to maintain me in shape. And so I watched myself ballooned into a chubby teenager. Because then, I had a private struggle with my weight. And since I come from a family members having a slower metabolism than normal, I was overweight for a long time operating. Then there had been books. While my school buddies meander on the school fields, you would find me in the library deeply engrossed in the fairy tale globe. If I’m not in the library, you would find me in my bedroom piling up my sweet valley twins series.
I thought I struck gold when my buddies took interest in my readings. Then I lent them the books which they never returned, a few of the returned books looked like a hurricane just got via it and so ended my short-lived idea of discovering buddies.
But that was prior to the age of social networks. With the augment of technology came mobile devices that permit me to obtain in touch with anybody, anytime, anywhere I’m in the world.
And so with that, social media advertising flourished. I was in a position to connect with bookworms to share reviews, wait for the books to look out for and to discover aspiring writers. Then a network for ballerinas was also set as much as share ballet stories, compare costs of toe shoes and wardrobe.
I was a lanky girl growing up. But when I reached adolescence, I started to acquire weight. It’s difficult to shed weight when you are all alone in the program. So via surfing the internet, I discovered extremely helpful advises and cheerleaders cheering me on in the promotional printing of leaflets by a pharmaceutical company meant to assist the obese to shed weight.
I have never discovered the heart to be reconciled with other exercise programs. My heart belonged to ballet hence with the studio still closed; I became acquainted with ballet via DVDs. It’s funny although how fate lastly gave me what I wanted; the opportunity to practice ballet in the comfort of my own house.
I never thought that technology paved the way for me to obtain in contact with people who share the same interests that I do. My social life has never been this busy and but Im still in a position to spend time reading my favorite books, dancing ballet and venturing in programs without having to do it alone.
